This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the engineering of oil & gas pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include the mechanical design of equipment and piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related ASME and API codes as well as some familiar with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications related to pipeline and facility design and constructionÂ
- Read and create process flow diagrams and P&IDsÂ
- Ability to direct and manage the piping design of pipelines and facilities. Â
- Capable, or at least understand the basics, of sizing and selecting equipment including pumps, control valves, oil & gas separators, scrubbers, treaters, etc.Â
- Understand the basics of instrumentation and interface with control systems engineers.Â
- Review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications. Â
- Visit job-sites to evaluate site, project requirements, and conditions. Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements/specifications.Â
- Experience with Hydraulic modeling and pipe stress analyses. Â
- Work both independently and alongside an engineering team to develop both high level and detailed design of mechanical piping systems.Â
- Interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (survey, structural, electrical, and/or instrumentation)Â
- Develop construction drawing packages and contractor specifications for oil and gas pipeline and facility projects.Â
- Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.Â
- Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.Â
- Meet deadlines working on multiple projects and/or with multiple clients with minimum supervision and take responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.Â
- Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.Â
- Strong communications skills and ability to interreact directly with clients, suppliers, upper management, and construction personnel.Â

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:Â
- Minimum 5 years experience in the project and detailed engineering of oil & gas upstream and/or midstream related facilities.Â
- Ability to read and understand: P&IDs, piping drawings, specifications and related codes and standards.Â
- Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing. Â
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.Â
- Preferred Qualifications:Â
- 10+ years of experienceÂ
- Medium/large multi-discipline project lead experience Â
- Pipeline route development and alignment sheet reviewÂ
- Permitting experience for development of new oil and gas facilities or pipelinesÂ
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering. Â
Certification/License:
- PE preferredÂ

- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbsÂ
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of timeÂ
- Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s)Â
- Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25% including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needsÂ
