Job Summary
This is a Houston, Texas full-time position. The Senior, Onshore Pipeline Engineer will provide bid/tender engineering support related to onshore pipeline design and construction engineering; conduct engineering calculations, studies, report writing and field investigations. Will also be responsible for the technical content, quality of the work, and adherence to project schedules. Responsible for providing procurement support related to pipeline design and construction engineering, including aiding in the generation of alignment sheets, material take-offs, cost estimates, scopes of work, schedule and the provision of technical clarifications.
Essential Functions
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with 15+ years of relevant onshore pipeline design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensing is preferred.
- Experience in the planning, design, and engineering of onshore pipelines, both distribution and transmission.
- Working knowledge of US and international design codes and practices for onshore pipelines. ( Natural Gas, and Hazardous Liquids pipeline experience).
- Familiar with U.S. FERC and PHMSA requirements for pipeline construction in environmentally sensitive areas including HCAs, protected areas, archeological, wetlands, etc.
- Proven experience related onshore pipeline studies and pragmatic in approach.
- Working knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, mechanical design, control and protection systems, repair methods, pipeline welding specification requirements, and pipeline technology.
- Working knowledge of pipeline construction methods (HDD, road crossings, trenching, etc.) and their impact on operational and environmental design.
- Experience with GIS software and able to direct preparation of onshore pipeline alignment sheets.
- Must be willing to learn new software or analysis methods as project needs arise.
- Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
- Must have good communication, writing, and presentation skills, and an excellent work ethic and work attitude.
- Organizational skills are a must.
- Have knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions.
- Technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in the field of onshore pipelines.
- Must interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments. Must also be a team player.

- 10+ Years of relevant onshore pipeline design experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensing is preferred.
- List if any travel is required using percentage of time:
- 25% - on average travels 1 week out of the month
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.
