Job Summary
This is a Houston area Mont Belvieu, TX based full-time position for the survey of oil & gas production pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include the field survey pipeline routes and piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore projects collecting essential data and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidate must be knowledgeable in using GPS and conventional survey equipment to measure and map pipeline installations, conduct site assessments and prepare detailed reports.
Essential Functions
- Possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the project and detailed survey of upstream and/or midstream pipelines and related facilities.
- Experienced with GPS and conventional survey equipment and technologies.
- Ability to read, create and maintain accurate field data records / documents.
- Knowledgeable in several types of survey: topographic, boundary, ALTA, preliminary, pipeline locating and probing, facility work and construction layout.
- Capable of overseeing the inventory of field equipment and ensure the survey vehicle is well stocked and maintained.
- Must hold a valid drivers license and insurance and provide a personal work truck.
- This role may require working for extended periods in diverse terrains and climates, including potentially adverse weather conditions.
- Typical work week consists of five 10 hour days, Monday through Friday.
- Available for overnight travel and may need to work nights and weekends as required to complete projects.
- Ability to direct and manage a survey field crew.
- Work both independently and alongside a survey design team to develop both high level and detailed design of mechanical piping systems.
- Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to interreact directly with clients, suppliers, and upper management
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 Years – Minimum of 5 years’ survey experience in the project and detailed design of upstream and/or midstream pipeline and related facilities.
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.
