Job Summary
This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the engineering of oil & gas production facilities, pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include the Electrical Engineering and design to support equipment and process/piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related NFPA, IEEE and API codes as well as some familiarity with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Possesses 2 to 5 years’ experience in the project and detailed engineering of upstream and/or midstream related facilities.
- Ability to read P&IDs and other engineering documents.
- Ability to direct and manage the electrical design of facilities working closely and under supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer.
- Capable, or at least understand the basics, of sizing and selecting electrical equipment and apparatus including motor starters, VFDs, Transformers, cable tray, conduit etc.
- Ability to understand the basics of instrumentation and interface with control systems engineers.
- Work both independently and alongside an engineering team to develop both high level and detailed design of electrical systems.
- Ability to interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (structural, mechanical, and/or instrumentation)
- Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.
- Solid communications skills and ability to interreact direct with clients, suppliers, and upper management

Specific Functions
- Ability to properly size cable, breakers, fuses, cable tray, conduit, etc.
- Basic understanding of grounding/bonding for onshore midstream related facilities.
- Capable of reading, understanding and developing One Line Diagrams, Panel Schedules, Motor Schematics, Junction Box Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Electrical Plans, etc.
- Familiarity, or willingness to learn, ETAP software for electrical analysis and Arc Flash studies.

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 Years–5 years’ experience in the project and detailed electrical engineering of upstream and/or midstream related facilities.
- Must have the willingness and ability to travel onshore or offshore as needed.
- 25% - on average travels 1 week out of the month.
- International Travel, while not expected, may be required at times
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited University
Certification/License:
- Preferred: EIT with the ability to gain a PE license within 4 years
