Job Location: Houston, TX
This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the project engineering/control for engineering of oil & gas production facilities, pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include general project controls and engineering tasks associated with the multi-discipline design of equipment and piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate should have familiarity with design and construction of upstream and midstream oil and gas installations and pipelines.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Possesses a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in the project engineering and control of oil and gas related facilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interreact direct with clients, suppliers, and upper management.
- Ability to direct and coordinate the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates .
- Preparation of engineering services proposals to clients.
- Ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams (survey, civil, structural, mechanical, process, electrical, and/or instrumentation) and coordinate with the project manager to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Ability to develop and maintain project schedules
- Prepare, maintain, and issue progress reports about project team work activities including internal and external stakeholders.
- Track engineering costs against budgets and assist with development of change orders as needed.
- Ability to read and understand engineering documents.
- Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred. Degree in Engineering a plus.
- 10+ years’ experience in oil & gas upstream or midstream engineering
- Experience with scheduling in MS Project
Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of time
- Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s)
- Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25% including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs
- Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.
