AUTOMATION ENGINEER Denver, CO

5+ Year experience

This is a Denver, CO based full time role in the field of automation engineering and system integration. Scope of duties to include control system design, PLC programming, HMI programming, and support of field commissioning and startup. Candidate must be knowledgeable across multiple PLC and SCADA applications and also familiar with detailed control system design and instrumentation engineering. Candidates should be self-starters, with an interest in business development and helping PERC to grow our new Denver office.

Responsibilities and Requirements :

  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design and programming of various technologies: PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.  PLC Experience must include Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, Cause & Effect, and other engineering documents.
  • Ability and experience programming PLCs in live environments.
  • Ability and interest in business development activities.
  • Work both independently and alongside an others as part of an automation commissioning team.
  • Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
  • Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
  • Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the drafting standards of the company and client.

Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Technical Degree preferred, namely in Engineering. Equivalent work experience will also be considered as well as an Associate Degree if meeting all other requirements.
  • 5+ year’s experience in automation design and / or programming.
  • Ability to read and understand: P&IDs, Motor Schematics, control narratives, I&E plans.

Physical Expectations:

  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of time
  • Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s)
  • Must be able to travel up to 100%, including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs.
  • Must be willing and able to work a 14/14 rotation in the Permian Basin or North Dakota.
  • Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather, elements, heavy equipment, earth excavation, power tools.

Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.

  • Process Engineers – 10 plus years of experience as a Process Engineer. Experience with upstream produced crude oil and natural gas treating is required. Past experience with LNG and NGL’s is a plus. Must be proficient in the use of process modeling software such as HYSYS or similar. BS in Chemical Engineering is preferred. Location: Houston, TX
    Facilities Engineers – 10 plus years of experience in oil and gas Facilities Engineering. Experience with onshore and offshore upstream production facilities is preferred. BS in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering. Location: Houston, TX and Lafayette, LA
